'I try to apply colours like words that shape poems. Like notes that shape music.' - Joan Miro´
Spanish artist Joan Miro´'s organic forms, childlike abstract shapes and sharp lines influenced our latest hand-beaded earrings.
Miro´'s art has been described as a sandbox for the subconscious mind and he was deeply interested in automatic drawing and painting. Sometimes our creative process at RUBY HQ mirrors this expression as we find that it's often in the unexpected and in the 'errors' or 'mistakes' that our best ideas originate.
These abstract face-like earrings are made with Japanese Miyuki beads in silver, matt black, rose gold and opalescent. Each tiny glass bead is woven by hand using bonded nylon thread. Finished with sterling silver ear-wires.
Nothing can be woven together without the thread that binds them.
Hands, Needles & Thread.
Bead by bead and wait for the magic to unfold.
Sewn together forever.
